Why is the SAT Important?
The SAT is one of two college admissions exams that almost every college uses to evaluate applicants. More than half of all colleges count SAT and ACT scores to be among the top 3 most important factors for admission, so your SAT score can make or break a college application.

Why C2 for SAT Prep?
C2 Education’s SAT prep programs are fully customized to meet each student’s individual needs. Every C2 SAT prep program begins with a full-length diagnostic test and consultation with a C2 program director. The diagnostic test results as well as the student’s academic record and goals will be reviewed to assess strengths and areas of opportunity. This review process allows C2’s program directors and tutors to work together to customize each student’s unique program. Unlike other SAT prep programs, which tend to be one-size-fits-all, and are often scheduled too close to students’ test dates for them to see significant improvement, C2’s programs build foundational skills that will last, and our small-group setting provides support and engagement.
C2 Education’s SAT prep programs maximize student results by:
- Strengthening core skills in reading, writing, and math
- Teaching life-long learning strategies
- Guiding students through high school and the college admissions process
- Helping students balance SAT prep and school work
Every Student Benefits from SAT Prep
The SAT is skills-based rather than knowledge-based exam, which means that it focuses on students’ critical thinking, problem solving, and analysis skills. Because the SAT is different from other tests students take throughout high school, most students benefit from SAT prep because preparation can help students master the specific skills covered by the test.
At C2, SAT prep is about more than just increasing SAT scores. A C2 SAT prep program also helps students with college readiness skills in reading, writing, and math that will help them for years to come. C2 tutors and program directors provide academic support beyond the SAT, helping students master important study skills, develop strong work habits, and balance their test prep and school work.
SAT vs. ACT
All four-year colleges will accept either the SAT or the ACT, so it can be a challenge to figure out which test to take, or whether to prepare for both. At C2 Education, we recommend that students explore both options by taking a practice test for each exam. Then students can choose whether to focus their energies on SAT prep, ACT prep, or both.
